Remember this
post when I mentioned the fabulous rug I was getting for my nursery? Well, I may or may not have splurged and purchased a new rug for our living room as well! It arrived a little more navy than the charcoal it stated. The color was still great, but because it didn't have as much of the gray tones, the rug didn't seem balanced in the space. I knew I needed some throw pillows too pull it all together, but it was the hardest color too match.
Fate smiled on me while I was in my local fabric store-mom and pop material stores that have been around for a long time are always my favorite. They put places like Hobby Lobby and JoAnn's to shame. Anyway, I saw this bolt and about died. It was the linen type of material that I was wanting and seemed to be a good color match. The best part was the price. It was clearanced out at $1.49 a yard! I felt like I couldn't go wrong for ten yards under fifteen bucks. I took a chance and purchased it all. The color was spot on!
Buy $6.99 pillow inserts from Ikea, follow the steps above and you will have pillows in no time and a finished project.
In the end, I am actually glad the rug had more blue tones than gray.
